8. See the Northern Lights

This natural light show is something I'd love to view, and hopefully soon. Apparently the auroral activities peaks every 11 years, with the next time being 2013! So hopefully, an awesome thing I can do fairly soon in  is view the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern lights.
After some research, I've the discovered the best place to view this natural phenomena are the Northwestern part of Canada; particularly Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories. After learning the science between these lights in several of my school classes, it would be nice to actually view the Northern Lights up close and in person.

7. Crystal Ice Cave: Skaftafell, Iceland

As a person who loves exploring, the renowned Crystal Ice Cave in Iceland are a perfect destination! Almost all the air has been pressed out this glacier turning the ice into a beautiful blue shade, much resembling crystal. One awesome thing I would love to do  in the near future is visit the caves and explore them.

6. Snorkeling in the Caribbean

When I was younger, my family would often vacation in the Caribbean. Travelling there and visiting the beach, family, and eating tropical foods was definitely a high light of my childhood. However, an awesome thing I'd love to do in the near future would be to return to a tropical island and go snorkeling. Whether you are visiting Jamaica, the Bahamas or Dominican Republic, the Caribbean is renowned for it's amazing climate and beautiful beaches. I would love to visit one of these small island and witness the aquatic life and coral reefs by snorkeling with a group of friends or family.

5. Visit Japan!!

From when I was young and watched anime, I have always wanted to visit Japan. As I grew up and started enjoying other aspects of the culture (i.e. music, food), my desire to go to Japan increased even more. One of the awesome things I want to do in the near future (hopefully after I graduate) is visit Japan and immerse myself in the various cultural and social aspects this country has to offer.
A beautiful view of Mt. Fuji
When I visit Japan, I would definitely start my vacation in the nation capital of Tokyo! After this I would move to other cities, most notably Osaka, Kyoto and Hokkaido. There are several sites and activities I would love to experience including eating a traditional Japanese meal, dressing up in kimonos, viewing the capsule hotels, maid cafes and hot springs. Though, the most prominent thing on my to do list would be to eat....eat A LOT. I absolutely love sushi, and being in Japan where I have access to authentic Japanese food, would be amazing. On this trip there's no doubt I'd come back at least 10lbs heavier then when I left, but it would be worth t to partake in 'real' sushi, mochi, pork buns, bubble tea....the list goes on!

mmmmm, sushi!!
Taro bubble tea is my favourite <3 (the purple one!)

4. Pamukkale Hot Springs, Turkey

After doing a project on Turkish culture for my international business class in high school, I discovered the beautiful Pamukkale Hot Springs in Turkey. These natural springs, also known as the "cotton castle" are famous for the unique way they formed, due to the flowing water. One of the awesome things I would love to do in the near future is visit this site and swim in one of the hot springs that cascade over the mountain.

The Pamukkale were formed when a high concentration of calcium bicarbonate flowed over the edge of a cliff and then hardened creating solid calcium deposits. Not only are the waters warm and perfect for relaxing in, they are also said to have healing qualities. I think this would make a great vacation, not only do these hot springs look enchanting but visiting Turkey would also be a great cultural experience!

This natural wonder attracts tourists from all over the world

3. Visit Peru's Machu Picchu

Standing at over 7000 feet, Peru's Machu Picchu mountain is a site to behold. One of the awesome things I would love to do with my family in the near future, is climb this mountain! According to some websites, there are multiple ways to get to the top, but most involve a two to four day hike with a tour guide. Not only would this be great exercise but visiting south america and being immersed in the culture (especially the food) would be great :D

2. Arctic Snow Dog Expedition

The picture that started it all :D
By far I prefer the warm summer weather as opposed to the freezing temperatures of winter. My favourite season is without a doubt autumn; it's not smoulderingly hot like summer or unbearably cold like winter, and without the rain of spring. However, for this next activity I want to do in the near future involves venturing to one of the coldest climates. I thought of doing this activity after seeing a picture of a baby husky (kinda random connection, I know)! I would loveeeeee to go on an Arctic snow dog expedition, preferably in Alaska, for two to three days!

I've been to Alaska briefly for a cruise, and thought it was beautiful. I know participating in such an activity would require me to have good fitness, and a tolerance of cold weather, but I feel for a one time experience it would be awesome! Alaska has some beautiful sights to offer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about being dropped in the middle of some deserted snowy plane and having to brave the Alaskan terrace and find my way back :P. This dog sled expedition would be a relatively short one, that involves only one overnight stop (not in an igloo, a legit cabin!). It would also be on a charted path that has been travelled on before, with a group of  people including a professional dog sledder!

I imagine the view at certain points in the expedition would be amazing :)
